About Me
Born in ‘91, I grew up in South Wales, hailing from Newport. I moved to Bristol and completed an undergrad in Drama: Film, Theatre and Television, which is when I gratefully first encountered stop frame animation. After graduating, I dipped my toe into the performance art and radical cabaret scene in London for 4 years, occasionally studying in performance at the Grotowski Institute in Poland, when I unfortunately had a complete breakdown and ended up in psychiatric care at a hospital in South Wales, where I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. It’s been a rocky road travelled by yours truly.
My experiences with homelessness and a mental health disorder have left me with the deep urge to help others in need. I’ve volunteered with various organisations in Swansea, including an amazing charity called Friends of the Young Disabled, working in the art room; RNIB running an art chat with visually impaired people, alongside volunteering at hospitals in South Wales, making collages with dementia patients.
At the moment, I’m an MA student at UWE Bristol in Animation, specialising in stop motion. I hope to take my passion for stop motion forward, with the hope of introducing other people to the craft, so that they can experience the joy of seeing ones own creations come to life.
